These horses here, they love their warm wintercoat!

As you are not in or from Iceland I think I must explain my saturday pictures: Hveragerði is a place abput half an hour from Reykjavík. There is lots of thermal heat under it and in glasshouses they grow flowers and tomatoes and some bananas for the tourists. Behind the house where a freind of mine lives there is a very nice little river and the steam you see is one on many outlets for bundeled energie from mother earth, tamed to heat human houses and glasshouses. So here they blow the steam off and together with the water and frost it makes qiute an interesting view. It is just there - no fence, no nothing around it.

19.11.

I know, it is boring: the weather today went up for 20 degrees Celsius and we had +2 today. In Reykjavík and, seen from the east, just there it did snow and snow and snow so that the traffic was stop. On a jeep I just could make it home.

Babysittng four boys in he countryside, we had a video party with apple and peach slices, some corrots and green and red paprika and Lucky Luke: These boys like Dalton brothers. The two little ones got a story to go to bed: a story about a story that wanted to be told. Is was a small, fat little story but nobody had time ti tell it. And ste story became so sorry it had to go to the kitchen to eat chocolate and then it cried so much it had to get a towel to dry the tears from the floor, everybody was so nasty but then it met the grandmother and became very happy. Than of course had had to tell the story the story wanted to tell...and by now everyone of the four is assleep. I guest in the computerroom, so I jused the opportunity and there even is a connecton to the www It is COLD - 18 dC this morning. Thanks god tehre is little wind but still it is frosty. I tried to take pics of the cold, must look at them tommorrow when I get home. Knitting woolen socks for christmas. Strangely the grandchildren love them. And my father, he uses his in the bed.

As it is saturday and they are stolen pictues, you will get some more. I am so happy that I make somebody happy with them! The honour of picture taking goes to Lotte and Heike. Isn´t it like a fairytale?

17.11

As so often before I am gratefull for having a big family. My two oldest granchildren stay with us for the time and how nice it must be for them in our big house: Grandma and grandpa on the top floor, uncel downstairs and Monika sandwiched in between. So they jingel around. Today I went shopping with my oldest grandson, warm clothing, jeans, socks, pullover and we spent a long time together. It was so much fun. For me.. I tried to be as serious as an 13 year old boy can be when trying on trousers. But as it was for his asking he could at least not grumble. And he ate a HUGE sandwich.

PICS for Lisi

This was all I could come up with the last weekend. As you see, it was raining... The car got stuck in the mud (but I didn´t drive) my shoes got dirty and the trousers wet, it was a great day! Because:

Everything in Iceland is beautifull, even the RAIN:

and more rain

Photos from last summer

This pic I took while we were stuck in mud and waiting for the traktor to rescue us.

drive with me on that road, maybe we meet Monika?

here we got some mares and their foales at a beautiful summerday- oh, long since!

So, of couse I don´t know which photo blogger choose, I gave him many. If it is not a horse or a landscape it is my latest granddaughter. Me curious. OK it is my daughter on a horse (yes, really?) And where is the rest of the pics? I will try later,
I should blog more, I know. There are (at least) 3 people out in the www who are diappointed daily.
My problem is that I don´t really have a live. I have work and a shattered ego a week ago too, but that is boring stuff anyway, so why should I talk about there? We have great success too, but it is ot yet the time to talk about that either. So when I don´t work and don´t knit or sleep or work for work I look at the lives of my children and grandchildren but they do some and could write their own blogs, so what can I pladder over their privacy?
I could and be hopefull, I will, put pics on the net. The dark side of iceland, the rain and mudder. I will. a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" Lisi asked me and when Lisi asks me I will have to do it. But not today, please! Me exhaustted. But still alive. And remembre veerybody dear to me. That´s something, isn´t it? I must get the rythm better. From now on I will be every second weekend in town, so there is a glimpse of hope.
my, I still remember how to do it! a good first step. And now you will get leads of pics, not the rainy ones:

here is me: viking woman in action.
